40-acre mixed orchard. About 1/2 in cherries and the remainder is 3 varieties of apples. Cherries are mostly Bings with Rainier pollinators and 1 acre of Bentons, which are self-pollinating. Cherries are on 12x16 spacings with under tree sprinklers. Trees are 13 and 14 years old. Apples are high-density plantings with 6-wire trellis, overhead sprinklers for cooling and under-tree emitters for irrigation. Planted on 3x10 spacing for ease of moving between blocks. There are 3 varietirs of apples, Ultima Galas,, September Wonder (an early Fuji variety) and Ke-Ku (a late Fuji). Trees re 3, 4, and 5-years old respectively. In addition, there are 3 propane-fired wind machines equipped with electronic temperature sensors for on/off. There is also a wind & solar turbine on the property that feeds the electrical needs of the orchard and any overflow of power goes into the ''grid'' to Benton REA. Onsite is also a modest single-wide for a caretaker residence. An additional 5-6 acres of the property is plantable and room for expansion.
